Hanging driftwood install
Inspired by this piece of driftwood I picked up on an evening beach stroll in late August, I was moved by the fading afterglow of the pinks that had overtaken the sky. Walking through the dunes as textured clouds rolled in I looked to see solidago (the long yellow flower commonly called goldenrod) blooming all around begging to be recognized too.
From there it was a fast track to source some flowers to exucute something. I bought a farm stand bunch from Thistle Down flower farm in Cedar Springs that set the tone as well as foraged natives to go around. Completed with some yellow solidago growing at the dunes near my nana’s. After a stroll I drove home listening to nothing but Santigold, it was a race for time as I sporadically placed the eclectic mix of earth.
I smiled as I put it up to hang and capture the moment before it faded as flowers do. It all gave me a rush just as that initial sunset did. Setting me up for the rush to create earth worship in those coming September days.
So blessed to be here and thankful for the process.
